Over the past 20 years, Cardiff University has become one of the leading centres in the UK for initiating and co-ordinating research into Huntington's disease. Prof Sir Peter Harper who retired from Cardiff University last year, was one of the original pioneers in the discovery of the HD gene and developing counselling protocols for people affected by Huntington's disease. A number of Cardiff-based research groups are now actively collaborating both locally and internationally. Click on each heading to find out more.
